Abstract:
A low noise pneumatic tire, comprising band-shaped sound absorbing materials of a porous material installed on the inner peripheral surface of a tread part with an elastic fixing band. The band-shaped sound absorbing material is formed such that its width is 40 to 90% of a tire maximum width (W) and its thickness is 5 to 50 mm. Other band-shaped sound absorbing material is formed in a curved shape along the inner peripheral surface of the tread part in the lateral and/or longitudinal direction. Further, in other the band-shaped sound absorbing material, laterally extending slits are formed in at least one of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces thereof at specified intervals in the longitudinal direction.
