Abstract:
This machining assistance system (1) assists a machining device (2) and is provided with: a workpiece supporting force generating unit (6) which generates a workpiece supporting force that resists the processing reaction force exerted by a processing tool (4a) on the workpiece (W) at the processing location; a support device (7) which moves the workpiece supporting force generating unit (6) while supporting the same; and a workpiece supporting force control device (8) which, on the basis of processing reaction force related data relating to the processing reaction force and processing location related data relating to the processing location of the processing tool (4a), controls the operation of the workpiece supporting force generating unit (6) and the support device (7) such that the workpiece supporting force generating unit (6) exerts, on the workpiece (W), a workpiece supporting force to resist the processing reaction force.
