Abstract:
A cellulose acetate according to the present invention has a total acetyl substitution degree of 0.4 to 1.1 and has a compositional distribution index (CDI), which is a value defined by the below-mentioned equation, of 3.0 or less. CDI = (actual measurement value of half compositional distribution width)/(theoretical value of half compositional distribution width) The actual measurement value of half compositional distribution width is a value of a half compositional distribution width, which is determined by an HPLC analysis of cellulose acetate propionate produced by propionylating all of remaining hydroxy groups in cellulose acetate (sample). In the equation shown below, DS represents a total acetyl substitution degree; DPw represents a weight average polymerization degree (a value determined by a GPC-light scattering method using cellulose acetate propionate produced by propionylating all of remaining hydroxy groups in cellulose acetate (sample)).
