Abstract:
The present invention provides an LTE base station system, and a cell merging/splitting method. A digital unit of an LTE base station is split into two parts: a digital parent unit and digital child units. The digital parent unit is responsible for processing an LTE layer 2 and layers above the LTE layer 2. The digital child unit is responsible for processing an LTE layer 1. The digital child units and a radio frequency module constitute remote modules of the present invention. The digital parent unit constitutes a proximal module of the present invention. The present invention has the following beneficial effects: 1) the proximal module and the remote module of the present solution are in communication with each other by means of a standard IP network for facilitating deployment and expansion; 2) related devices, modules or algorithms for optical communication, signal conversion, and signal compression/decompression are not added, and the technical complexity is low and the costs are lower; 3) remote modules are independently demodulated and decoded, thereby solving the problem in the prior art of an increasing ground noise caused by signal merging.
