Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a lubricant composition which has a low viscosity and still exhibits excellent oil film retainability and low evaporativity, while having excellent cleanliness at high temperatures. The problem is solved by a lubricant composition which contains a base oil (A) that contains an olefin polymer (A1), a viscosity index improver (B) and an imide-based dispersant (C), wherein: a first olefin polymer (A1-1) having a kinematic viscosity of 3.0 mm2/s or more at 100°C is contained as the olefin polymer (A1); the content of the first olefin polymer (A1-1) is 30% by mass or more based on the total amount of the base oil (A); a second olefin polymer (A1-2) having a kinematic viscosity of less than 3.0 mm2/s at 100°C is not contained as the olefin polymer (A1), or alternatively is contained in an amount of less than 18.5% by mass based on the total amount of the base oil (A); the content of a resin component (B1) derived from the viscosity index improver (B) is 0.01% by mass or more based on the total amount of the lubricant composition; the nitrogen atom content derived from the imide-based dispersant (C) is 0.06% by mass or more based on the total amount of the lubricant composition; the content ratio of the resin component (B1) derived from the viscosity index improver (B) to the first olefin polymer (A1-1), namely (B1)/(A1-1) is more than 0.001 in terms of the mass ratio; the kinematic viscosity at 100°C is not less than 5.0 mm2/s but less than 7.1 mm2/s; and the aniline point is 95°C or more.
