Abstract:
A lubricant for hot plastic working which is excellent in lubricity, suitability
for feeding, and workability and exerts no adverse influence on the corrosion
resistance of a product. The lubricant for hot plastic working has a composition
which, besides a stabilizer, comprises 50-80 mass% iron oxide, 20-50 mass% sodium
silicate, and 1-20 mass% calcium oxide in terms of anhydrous-state amount. In
the lubricant, the content of each of zinc oxide, lead oxide, and copper oxide,
which are impurities, and the total content of these are 5 mass% or lower. This
lubricant is suitable for use in, e.g., lubricating a guide shoe in the perforation/rolling
of a high-chromium steel.
