Abstract:
A lubricating oil additive which improves the frictional properties of sliding parts in internal combustion engines or drive transmission engines and is highly effective in reducing fuel cost. This lubricating oil additive comprises a heterocyclic compound having a heterocyclic skeleton derived from a compound selected among pyridine compounds, pyrrole compounds, pyrimidine compounds, pyrazole compounds, pyridazine compounds, indazole compounds, pyrazine compounds, triazine compounds, triazole compounds, tetrazole compounds, oxazole compounds, oxadiazole compounds, thiazole compounds, thiadiazole compounds, furan compounds, dioxane compounds, pyran compounds, and thiophene compounds. A lubricating oil composition containing this lubricating oil additive is effective for various low-friction sliding members, rolling bearings, and sliding bearings.
