Abstract:
A lubricating oil composition which has excellent wear resistance and exhibits a reduced coefficient of friction under the low-speed and low-load operating conditions, thus being suitable as a lubricating oil for automotive internal-combustion engines, which composition comprises a lubricating base oil and, added thereto, (A) ZnDTP/alkanolamine complex represented by general formula (I) (where R1 and R2 represent each C1-C25 alkyl, C2-C25 alkenyl, C6-C26 cycloalkyl which may be alkylated, or C6-C26 aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl each of which may have ester linkage, ether linkage, etc.; R3 represents C2-C4 alkylene or alkyleneaminoalkylene; and n is 1 or 2) in an amount of 0.1-2.0 wt.% based on the whole composition, and (B) MoDTC represented by general formula (II) (wherein R4 and R5 represent each C1-C20 alkyl, C2-C20 alkenyl, C6-C26 cycloalkyl which may be alkylated, or C6-C26 aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl each of which may have ester linkage, ether linkage, etc.; and x and y represent each a positive integer provided the sum of them equals 4) in a an amount of 0.01-10 wt.% based on the whole composition.
