Abstract:
Provided, as a lubricating oil composition that retains the properties necessary for lubrication of a transmission or other machinery while further improving on prior art to obtain excellent insulation performance, friction resistance and seize resistance, is a lubricating oil composition wherein (A) a lubricating oil base is mixed with (B) at least one phosphorus compound selected from phosphorus compounds having at least one hydroxyl group and/or thiol group and (C) an ash-free dispersant having nitrogen-containing functional groups as the dispersion base such that there is either no nitrogen content or the nitrogen content in terms of the total amount of composition is 0.001 mass% or less, and the volume resistivity at 80ºC is 5 x 108 Ω·m or greater.
