Abstract:
Provided is a lubricating oil composition comprising a base oil (A), at least one aromatic carboxylate ester derivative (B) selected from aromatic carboxylate ester derivatives (B1) represented by general formula (I) and aromatic carboxylate ester derivatives (B2) represented by general formula (II), an oxymolybdenum complex (C1) of a basic nitrogen compound, and a calcium-based detergent (D) comprising a calcium-based detergent (D1) having a base number of at least 200 mg KOH/g. A component (B) content is at least 1.5 mass%; the content of molybdenum atom originating from a component (C1) is a prescribed amount; the content of calcium atom originating from a component (D) is a prescribed amount; the sulfated ash is not more than 0.3 mass%; and the phosphorus atom content is a prescribed amount. The lubricating oil composition can reduce the friction coefficient while being able to suppress the occurrence of LSPI and providing a good high-temperature detergency.
