Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a lubricating oil composition that has a reduced coefficient of friction in a wide temperature region including a low-temperature region, that can ensure a predetermined initial base value, and that has reduced viscosity. A lubricating oil composition for use in a gasoline engine, comprising: a base oil (A), a specific metal-based cleaning agent (B), and a specific molybdenum compound (D), wherein the contained amount of molybdenum atoms derived from the molybdenum compound (D) is 0.05 mass% or more, the base value is 4.0 mgKOH/g or more, and the HTHS viscosity of the lubricating oil composition at 150°C is not less than 1.3 mPa·s but less than 2.3 mPa·s.
