Abstract:
A friction engagement element (CLx) which is engaged and disengaged in the axial direction by a piston (40) is provided within the transmission case (20) of an automatic transmission (1) at a position on the outer diameter side of the peripheral wall section (32) of a clutch drum (30), and a piston (70) which engages and disengages a friction engagement element (CLz) in the axial direction is provided on the inner diameter side of the peripheral wall section (32) so as to be capable of moving forward and backward in the axial direction. A through-hole (321a) for connecting the inner diameter side and the outer diameter side of the first peripheral wall section (321) of the peripheral wall section (32) is provided in the first peripheral wall section (321). A through-hole (87) which serves as a supply opening through which lubricating oil is supplied is provided on the inner diameter side of the piston (70). A connection passage (79) for connecting the through-hole (87) and the through-hole (321a) is provided in the piston (70) so as to penetrate therethrough. At the initial position of the piston (70) at which the friction engagement element (CLz) is set to a disengaged state, a larger amount of the lubricating oil is supplied to the outer diameter side of the clutch drum (30) through both the connection passage (79) and the through-hole (321a). Consequently, the friction engagement element (CLx) on the outside of the peripheral wall section (32) can be sufficiently lubricated.
