Abstract:
The camshaft (42) of an engine has formed therein an oil supply passage (42h) for lubrication, which extends along the center axis of the camshaft (42). Cam communication oil holes (42hb) extending radially from the oil supply passage (42h) to the outer peripheral surface of the camshaft (42) are formed at the same axial position as an engine valve (41). Cam lobes (43A, 43B) located on the outer periphery of a cam carrier (43) fitted on the outer periphery of the camshaft (42) respectively have cam oil supply holes (43Ah, 43Bh) formed so as to extend radially from the inside to cam surfaces. The cam oil supply holes (43Ah, 43Bh) in the cam lobes (43A, 43B) of the cam carrier (43) are in communication with the cam communication oil holes (42hb) in the camshaft (42) when the cam lobes (43A, 43B) have moved to a position where the cam lobes (43A, 43B) activate the valve (41), and lubricating oil is supplied.
