Abstract:
This luminance adjustment device controls, in such a manner as to reach a target value, a drive value for driving a light source disposed in a display unit, thereby adjusting the luminance of the light source. This luminance adjustment device is equipped with a deterioration compensation unit using the cube value of the drive value to correct the time during which the light source has been in use, accumulates the corrected time to determine the cumulative time-in-use of the light source, and, on the basis of the cumulative time-in-use and a luminance characteristic that has been pre-stored in memory and gives the relationship between the luminance and the time-in-use of the light source, determines the drive value.
