Abstract:

The present invention provides a method whereby HFC-245cb and (E)-HFO-1234ze, which have boiling points that differ little by 1ºC, are isolated by extractive distillation from a composition containing the HFC-245cb and the (E)-HFO-1234ze. Specifically, the present invention is a method for isolating HFC-245cb and (E)-HFO-1234ze from a composition containing the HFC-245cb and the (E)-HFO-1234ze, characterized in that the composition is subjected to extractive distillation with at least one extractant selected from the group consisting of halogenated hydrocarbons, halogenated unsaturated hydrocarbons, nitriles, ketones, carbonates, alcohols, hydrocarbons, esters, and ethers.
