Abstract:
Provided are an on-machine development type lithographic printing plate precursor processing method and a printing method, in which the processing method includes subjecting a lithographic printing plate precursor having an image recording layer on a support body to image exposure and then, prior to mounting the lithographic printing plate precursor on a printing press, coating a processing liquid that contains a hydrophilizing agent onto a region which is one centimeter from the edges of the plate surface of the lithographic printing plate precursor, wherein by using the printing method and the processing method in which the coating is carried out in such a way that a coating means does not come into contact with the plate surface, obtained is a lithographic printing plate for which edge soiling does not occur, no soiling of unexposed portions other than the edges is present, and water allowance at the time of printing is large with respect to edge soiling.
