Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/082268
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
A machine (10) includes an internal combustion engine (18), and an exhaust particulate filter system (20) coupled therewith having an exhaust particulate filter (22) for trapping particulates in exhaust from the internal combustion engine (18). A control system (40) for the exhaust particulate filter (22) includes a sensing mechanism (42) such as an RF soot sensor (42) and a data processor (44) coupled with the sensing mechanism (42) and configured to output a moisture compensation signal responsive to a pattern of inputs from the sensing mechanism (42) indicative of moisture within the exhaust particulate filter (22), for controlling regeneration thereof.
