Title:
MACHINE FOR MACHINING WOODEN ARTICLES ACROSS THE GRAIN IN THREE PLANES WITH DIFFERENT TRANSVERSE SECTIONS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/074023
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to the woodworking industry, and more particularly to equipment for manufacturing components for buildings. The machine comprises a longitudinal roller bed for receiving workpieces, a measuring table for cross-cutting workpieces, and a cross-cut saw for machining workpieces in a first plane. The body of the machine consists of a main frame, a top frame, upper longitudinal beams, supports for the attachment of a screw-and-nut type drive of a clamping and feeding mechanism, and springs. On the frame there are mounted platforms which can be moved, positioned and secured relative to the longitudinal axis of the machine. Each platform has mounted thereon a spindle for machining workpieces from below in a second plane and two spindles for machining workpieces from two sides in a third plane. Each platform is provided with upper horizontal surfaces having transverse chain conveyors for moving workpieces relative to the longitudinal axis of the machine as they are machined in the second plane. The spindles of one upper longitudinal beam are provided with mechanisms for the automatic mechanical clamping of workpieces when the transverse chain conveyors are in operation. Another upper longitudinal beam is provided with machining units which are mounted on longitudinal linear guides. Between the main frame and the top frame there are mounted vertical guides for the vertical downward movement of a jig when the screw-and-nut drive is in operation.
