Abstract:
The present invention relates to a machine and a method for handling tires (2). Said machine has a tire conveying unit for conveying the tires (2), comprising three conveying tracks (10, 11, 12) in parallel which are spaced apart by respective lanes (13) between the outer tracks (10, 12) and the center track (11) transversely to the direction of conveyance (a). The machine (1) further has two fork elements (15, 16) parallel to each other, said fork elements having a first leg (15', 16') and a second leg (15", 16"), a common pivoting axis (S) of the fork elements (15, 16) running through the connection point (17) of the two legs (15', 16', 15", 16"). One fork element (15, 16) each is pivotably arranged about the connection point in the lanes (13) such that - in a first position, the second leg (15", 16") of each fork element (15, 16) is received in a conveying track plane, and - in a second position, both legs (15', 16', 15", 16") of each fork element (10, 11, 12) extend out of the conveying track plane.
