Title:
MACHINE PARTS WITH EXCELLENT CORROSION RESISTANCE AND ABRASION RESISTANCE, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/124899
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The present invention relates to machine parts with increased heat resistance and fatigue strength and excellent corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance, by boronizing machine parts such as bolts, screws and the like particularly used in environments requiring corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance to generate a compound layer on the surface of the machine parts, washing the same, and then oxidizing the same, and a manufacturing method thereof. That is, the present invention relates to machine parts with excellent corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance, and the manufacturing method thereof comprising: the step of preparing a machine part preform comprising an iron alloy comprising iron (Fe), and 0.01-1.0 wt% of carbon (C), 0.2-2 wt% of chromium (Cr), 0.2-2 wt% of molybdenum (Mo), 0.2-2 wt% of nickel (Ni), and 0.1-0.8 wt% of vanadium (V) on the basis of the total weight of iron (Fe); the step of heading and cold forging the preform to a predetermined size and cutting or thread rolling the same to form a spiral; the boronizing step of putting the spiral-shaped preform into a heat treatment furnace jig box filled with a boronizing powder and injecting a nitrogen (N2) gas in the amount of 5-6 times the internal volume of the heat treatment furnace to diffuse and penetrate boron (b) on the surface of the preform by a heat treatment means at 800-1110 ℃ for 10 minutes to 30 hours inside the heat treatment furnace, thereby generating a boride layer; the washing step of electrolytic cleaning the boronized preform using a counter electrode which converts into a cathode or an anode in an alkali electrolyte aqueous solution to remove foreign matters and oils on the surface of the preform; and the oxidizing step of charging the washed preform in the heat treatment furnace, blowing nitrogen (N2) gas, and oxidizing the same by blowing oxygen (O2) or steam (H2O) into the heat treatment furnace while maintaining the temperature at 200-700 ℃ to generate an oxide layer.
