Description:
A MACHINE FOR PRODUCTION OF A CARTON FOR PACKING APPLICABLE TO A TILE OR A STACK OF TILES

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to the technical sector concerning production of cartons for packing applicable to tiles.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART

At present a firm producing and packing tiles must regularly source packing cartons and have warehouses of dimensions such as to be able to stock large quantities of cartons for packing. This complicates logistics and requires the use of warehouses of considerable dimensions.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The aim of the present invention consists in obviating the above-cited drawbacks.

The above aim is attained with a machine for production of a carton for packing applicable to a tile or stack of tiles, according to claim 1.

The machine of the invention enables obtaining a carton for packing provided with a first score line and a second score line that are parallel to one another and which develop along the development direction of the carton for packing so that the following are identified: a central sector comprised between the first score line and the second score line; a first lateral sector comprised between the first score line and a first lateral end of the carton for packing; and a second lateral sector comprised between the second score line and a second lateral end of the carton for packing which is opposite the first lateral end. The machine of the object advantageously enables obtaining a carton for packing of various dimensions and conformation for applying to a tile or a stack of tiles.

By way of example a first carton for packing can be realised which embraces a tile or stack of tiles at a relative first flank and part of a second flank and a third flank, the second flank and the third flank being adjacent to the first flank; to complete the packing it will be necessary to realize a second carton for packing which embraces the tile or stack of tiles at a relative second flank, opposite the first flank, and at a part of the second flank and third flank. The first carton for packing and the second carton for packing can be dimensioned such that they partially superpose on one another at the second flank and the third flank of the tile or stack of tiles. In this case, if for each of these packing cartons flaps are to be made for partially covering the upper face and the lower face of the tile or stack of tiles, it will be necessary to realize a first die- cutting in the first lateral sector and the second lateral sector at a first longitudinal portion of the cardboard band for packing, as well as a second die-cutting in the first lateral sector and the second lateral sector at a second longitudinal portion of the cardboard band for packing.

The machine uses a reel of cardboard band for packing, which enables realising a large quantity of cartons for packing; the volume comprising the whole dimensions of the machine of the invention and the space required for stocking reels of cardboard for guaranteeing a predetermined number of cartons for packing is advantageously smaller than the volume which in the prior art is necessary for stocking the same predetermined number of cartons for packing.

The band of cardboard for packing to be used must have a sufficient flexibility to be windable on the reel; the band of cardboard for packing is preferably provided with a first cardboard sheet, having a planar development, and a second cardboard sheet having an undulating development; the second sheet is fixed to the first sheet. With only two sheets the band of cardboard for packing exhibits the required characteristics of flexibility for being wound on a reel and has the minimum quantity of cardboard required for packing a tile or stack of tiles. The cartons for packing used in the prior art, on the other hand, also use a third sheet fixed to the second sheet, so that the second sheet, as mentioned undulating, is interposed between the first sheet and the second sheet; as a consequence, the cartons for packing of the prior art cannot be wound on a reel, as they are more rigid and heavier since they are made with a greater quantity of cardboard material.

Overall, the unit cost of each carton for packing is reduced, for the following reasons: each single carton for packing is made with a smaller quantity of material; the cartons for packing can be realised internally of the company producing and packing the tiles, while in the prior art they are produced by third parties with prior-art machines; transport costs are also reduced, which now relate only to storing reels of bands of cardboard for packing.

The advancing trajectory of the cardboard band (4) for packing is the pathway that the carton band (4) for packing follows in the advancement direction (A). The cardboard band (4) for packing is step-moved by the first conveyor and guide belt (31), by the second conveyor and guide belt (32), by the third conveyor and guide belt (33) and by the fourth conveyor and guide belt (34). Figure 4 is a lateral view of the machine (1) of the invention. Further, figure 4 schematically illustrates a portion (24) of the cardboard band (4) for packing in a first time instant, in a second time instant following the first time instant, and in a third time instant following the second time instant with the aim of highlighting the die-cutting and cutting process of the cardboard band (4) for packing which leads to the formation of a carton (5) for packing.

In a first time instant, the cardboard band (4) for packing is halted and the die cutting unit (21) performs a first die-cutting in the first lateral sector (14) and in the second lateral sector (15) at a first longitudinal portion (22) of the cardboard band (4) for packing. Thereafter the cardboard band (4) for packing is moved in the advancement direction (A) and in a second time instant is newly halted: the die cutting unit (21) performs a second die-cutting in the first lateral sector (14) and the second lateral sector (15) at a second longitudinal portion (23) of the cardboard band (4) for packing. Thereafter, the cardboard band (4) is moved in the advancement direction (A) and in a third time instant it is newly halted: in this case the shearing unit (18) performs a cutting of the cardboard band (4) for packing at a third longitudinal portion (25) of the cardboard band (4) for packing, which determines the formation of a carton (5) for packing.

The machine (1) of the invention enables easily selecting: the length of the carton (5) for packing, by commanding the first conveyor and guide (31) belt, the second conveyor and guide belt (32), the third conveyor and guide belt (33), the fourth conveyor and guide belt (34) and the shearing unit (18); the position in which it made the first die-cutting and the second die-cutting, by commanding the first conveyor and guide belt (31), the second conveyor and guide belt (32), the third conveyor and guide belt (33), the fourth conveyor and guide belt (34) and the die-cutting unit (21); of the position of the first score line (11) and the second score line (12), by regulating the scoring means (10). The machine (1) thus enables obtaining a carton (5) for packing of various dimensions and conformation for application to a tile or a stack of tiles.

The shearing unit (18) is preferably arranged downstream of the die-cutting unit (21) with respect to the advancement direction (A).

The machine (1) preferably further comprises: a fifth conveyor and guide belt (35) which develops in a loop, which is arranged downstream of the support means (2) with respect to the advancement direction (A) in which the cardboard band (4) for packing is unwound from the relative reel (3), which is arranged so as to contact the first face (8) of the cardboard band (4) for packing and which is arranged inferiorly with respect to the first conveyor and guide belt (31); a sixth conveyor and guide belt (36) which develops in a loop and is arranged downstream of the support means (2) with respect to the advancement direction (A) in which the cardboard band (4) for packing is unwound from the relative reel (3), which is arranged so as to contact the second face (9) of the cardboard band (4) for packing and which is arranged inferiorly with respect to the second conveyor and guide belt (32); the fifth conveyor and guide belt (35) and the sixth conveyor and guide belt (36) being opposite and reciprocally arranged so as to grip the cardboard band (4) for packing and draw it in an advancement direction (A) in cooperation with the first conveyor and guide belt (31) and with the second conveyor and guide belt (32).

The use of the fifth conveyor and guide belt (35) and the sixth conveyor and guide belt (36), additionally to the use of the first conveyor and guide belt (31) and the second conveyor and guide belt (32), is useful for correctly guiding the cardboard band (4) for packing towards the shearing unit (18) and toward the die-cutting unit (21): in fact, the cardboard band (4) for packing in outlet from the reel (3) tends to maintain the curvature it had when wound on the reel (3) and it is therefore important to stretch it and keep it in a vertical arrangement during the pathway thereof towards the shearing unit ( 8) and towards the die cutting unit (21).

The scoring means (10) are preferably arranged upstream of the shearing unit (18) with respect to the advancement direction (A).

The scoring means (10) preferably comprise a first scoring wheel (41) and a second scoring wheel (42) for realizing the first score line (11); the first scoring wheel (41) and the second scoring wheel (42) are idle, opposite one another and act respectively on the first face (8) and the second face (9) of the cardboard band (4) for packing.

The scoring means (10) preferably comprise also a third scoring wheel (43) and a fourth scoring wheel (44) for realising the second score line (12); the third scoring wheel (43) and the fourth scoring wheel (44) are idle, opposite and act respectively on the first face (8) and the second face (9) of the cardboard band (4) for packing.

The first scoring wheel (41) and the third scoring wheel are interposed between the first conveyor and guide belt (31) and the fifth conveyor and guide belt (35).

The second scoring wheel (42) and the fourth scoring wheel (44) are preferably interposed between the second conveyor and guide belt (32) and the sixth conveyor and guide belt (36).

The above description is intended by way of non-limiting example, and any eventual constructional variants are understood to fall within the protective scope of the present technical solution, as claimed in the following.
