Abstract:

This machine protection device is provided with a refrigerant temperature sensor which detects the temperature of a refrigerant used in cooling a machine which includes a heating element, multiple machine temperature sensors which detect the temperature of the machine, and a controller which applies driving restrictions to the machine on the basis of the detected refrigerant temperature detected by the refrigerant temperature sensor and the detected temperatures detected by the machine temperature sensors. As the detected machine temperature, the controller specifies one of the temperatures detected by the multiple machine temperature sensors that is higher than the lowest detected temperature, calculates the temperature difference between the detected refrigerant temperature and the detected machine temperature, applies the aforementioned drive restriction to the machine if the temperature difference is greater than or equal to a prescribed temperature difference threshold value, and applies a drive restriction to the machine if the detected machine temperature is higher than a prescribed temperature threshold value.
