Abstract:
The invention relates to a machine-readable pattern (3) that can be applied in any size to a stationary or freely moving surface (1). This pattern (3) is supplied with a temporally variable signal and can be read out and decoded by means of a number of test probes (5) that scan the signal each time at a point on the pattern. The invention also relates to a method for reading out a machine-readable pattern (3) that can be applied in any size to a stationary or freely moving surface(1). This pattern (3) is supplied with a temporally variable signal and can be read out and decoded by means of a number of test probes (5) that scan the signal each time at a point on the pattern. The inventive method comprises the following steps: measuring a local portion of the pattern; processing the data extracted therefrom, and; decoding the data.
