Abstract:

A machine tool (100) is provided with a main tool shaft (112), on which a cutting tool (CT) is mounted, and a control device (1). The control device (1) is provided with a control circuit (10), an assessment circuit (30), and a setting circuit (40). When it is determined that chatter is occurring when the main tool shaft (112) is being rotated to cut a workpiece (W), the control circuit (10) randomly determines a variation amount (V) from a range between an upper limit (UL) and a lower limit (LL) and rotates the main tool shaft (112) at a second rotation speed (RS2) that is obtained by varying the first rotation speed (RS1) by the variation amount (V).
