Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a machine tool and a cutting method enabling highly accurate processing of a workpiece and reduction in processing time. [Solution] The present invention is provided with: a main shaft 7 that holds and rotates a workpiece 7; a holder 25 that holds a first cutting tool T1 and a second cutting tool T2 having straight cutting blades H1 and H2, respectively, for cutting the workpiece W; and movement devices (M1, M2, M3) that move the first cutting tool T1 and the second cutting tool T2 relatively to the workpiece W in movement directions including at least Z-direction and Y-direction. The holder 25 holds the first cutting tool T1 and the second cutting tool T2 such that the first cutting tool T1 and the second cutting tool T2 are arranged along a movement direction in a state where the respective directions of the straight cutting blades H1 and H2 are tilted with respect to Z-direction when viewed from X-direction but are not parallel with each other.
