Abstract:
A machine tool (10) including a main spindle (14) having a work mounting section
(18) on which work (W) is mounted, a structure placed close to the main spindle,
a main spindle moving mechanism (20) capable of moving the main spindle in the
direction of approaching the structure and in the direction of separating from
the structure, and a work receiving/delivering device (28) for receiving and
delivering the work from and to the work mounting section of the main spindle.
The work receiving/delivering device has a support section (34) capable of
releasably supporting the work at a receiving/delivery position facing the
work mounting section. The main spindle moving mechanism has a retreating stroke
(T) for forming a space (S) in which the support section can support the work at
the receiving/delivering position.
