Abstract:

A machine tool for machining a work by relatively moving a tool and a work, and its pallet changing device. The machine tool comprises a tool-mounting spindle, a table for mounting thereon a work-attached pallet (P), a pallet loading station for setting up a work on a pallet (P), and a pallet changing device provided with a pair of pallet changing arms (37) so constituted as to be able to turn around a vertical axis between the table and the pallet loading station and to allow one pallet changing arm (37) to move vertically with respect to, and independently of, the other pallet changing arm (37). It is possible to set the vertical-direction position of a pallet changing arm on the side of the pallet loading station lower than that on the table side to thereby improve the efficiency and safety of a set-up work.
