Abstract:
A machine tool with a mono-rotatable spindle head and mono-rotatable workholding table, wherein the head (12) is mounted on a slide (10) which moves relative to the workholding table (20) along three perpendicular axes X, Y, Z, and can rotate relative to said slide (10) about a polar axis A, the workholding table (20) being able to rotate about a vertical polar axis C, characterised in that said polar axis A forms with said polar axis C an angle (&dgr ) greater than 45°, the spindle head (12) being mounted on said slide (10) at a fixed angle (&gammad ) such that when the spindle axis (18) is horizontal, it is also parallel to one of the two horizontal linear axes of the machine.
