Abstract:
A machine tool (1) comprises: a bed (2); a spindle headstock (4) provided on the bed (2) so as to be able to move in the horizontal direction; a main spindle (40) that is provided on the spindle headstock (4) and on which a rotary tool for machining (T) can be mounted; a column (5) that is erected on the bed (2) in the vertical direction; and a table (6) that holds a workpiece (W) during machining and that is supported by the column (5) so as to be able to move in the vertical direction when the workpiece (W) is machined by the rotary tool (T). Furthermore, the machine tool comprises a loading stand (81) on which the workpiece (W) is placed, that is supported so as to be able to move in the same direction as the motion with respect to the column (5) of the table (6), and by which the workpiece (W) can be transported between a prescribed loading and unloading position and the table (6) by way of the movement.
