Abstract:
Disclosed is a machine tool comprising: a cutting tool that performs cut-processing on a workpiece; a rotating means that rotates the cutting tool and the workpiece relative to one another; a feeding means that subjects the cutting tool and the workpiece to a feeding operation in a predetermined processing-feed direction; a vibration means that reciprocatingly vibrates the cutting tool and the workpiece relative to one another; and an amplitude control means that controls the amplitude of the reciprocating vibration by the vibration means. By the relative rotation between the workpiece and the cutting tool and the feeding operation accompanied by the reciprocating vibration, in the processing-feed direction, of the cutting tool relative to the workpiece and having said amplitude, the machine tool performs cut-processing by moving the cutting tool relative to the workpiece along a predetermined movement path. In the machine tool: the movement path is constituted by a plurality of divisional paths divided at predetermined coordinate positions on the movement path; and the amplitude control means sets the amplitude separately for each of the divisional paths.
