Abstract:
A machine tool (1) has a main shaft (32) supported on a support surface (37a) of a support body (37) in such an orientation that a longitudinal axis of the main shaft is aligned with the support surface (37a), and the main shaft (32) can move in a vertical direction that is along the support surface (37a) and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The machine tool (1) is characterized in that the support body (37) is provided with a ventilation hole (80) that passes through the support body (37) between the support surface (37a) and a surface (37b) facing in the opposite direction as the support surface (37a), and that opens toward the main shaft (32).
