Abstract:

Provided is a machine tool with which it is possible to reduce the work of switching a range of movement of a moving body. A movement-side cover 40 provided on a moving body (10) covers a portion, in a movement direction (D1), of a position of a feeding device 20. A support-side cover 50 is disposed further toward a first range of movement 110 than an end portion 41 of a second range of movement 120, in the movement direction (D1), of the movement-side cover 40, and in a first usage state ST1 continuously covers a portion, in the movement direction (D1), of the position of the feeding device 20 together with the movement-side cover 40, and in a second usage state ST2 causes a gap CL1 to be generated in the movement direction (D1) between the support-side cover 50 and the movement-side cover 40. A slide cover 60 is attached in such a way as to be capable of sliding in the movement direction (D1) relative to a counterpart cover, which is one of the support-side cover 50 and the movement-side cover 40, and in the second usage state ST2, hides the gap CL1 while being pulled out from the counterpart cover in the movement direction (D1).
