Abstract:
This machine tool is provided with: an arm (53) for exchanging a tool (T) between a main shaft (5) in a machining chamber (R1) and a secondary tool standby position (S2) in a tool holding chamber (R2); a shutter (7) which is provided in an opening (6a) defined in a wall (6) which partitions between the machining chamber (R1) and the tool holding chamber (R2); a first motor (SV1) for opening and closing the shutter (7); a shutter position detector (EN1) which can detect the position of the shutter (7) in the entire range between the fully open position and the fully closed position; a storage device which stores a prescribed position of the shutter (7) associated with a prescribed operation of the arm (53); and a control device which is configured to perform a prescribed operation of the arm (53) on the basis of the position of the shutter (7) detected by the shutter position detector (EN1) and the prescribed position of the shutter (7) stored in the storage device.
