Abstract:
Provided are: a machining apparatus capable of drilling from the end face of the expanded diameter section in a long workpiece and capable of drilling from the end face of the shaft section in a short workpiece, without reversing the orientations of a collet and sleeve in a chuck device; a method for using the same; and a chuck device to be used in said machining apparatus. The machining apparatus is provided with a deep hole-drilling machine (2) and a chuck device (3). A sleeve (29) and a collet (30) are provided inside the chuck device (3) and the openings of the two respective ends of the collet (30) and the sleeve (29) are open to the outside of the chuck device (3). The opening on one end each of the sleeve (29) and the collet (30) is oriented toward the deep hole-drilling machine (2) and the collet (30) is disposed on the other end side of the sleeve (29).
