Abstract:

A machining center is provided with: a rotatable tool magazine (22) which is so disposed at a slant above a worked region (WS) facing a main shaft (15) that the main shaft side is positioned lower, and has a plurality of grippers (24) holding tools (16) in the circumferential direction; and a shutter (26) which is disposed below the tool magazine (22) to be freely opened/closed toward the main shaft side. The tool magazine (22) has a tool absent region (AR2) in which no gripper (24) exists on a part in the circumferential direction, and a tool holding region (AR1) in which the grippers (24) exist on a remaining part in the circumferential direction. The tool magazine (22) so controls the rotation of the tool magazine (22) that the tool absent region (AR2) moves to the main shaft side when the shutter (26) is closed and the tool holding region (AR1) moves to the main shaft side when the shutter (26) is open.
