A first servomotor drives a first part in the radial rotational direction. A second part is supported so as to move freely in the radial direction by the first part. A second servomotor drives the second part in the radial direction. The second part supports a tool for machining work. A controller generates measurement data indicating the relationship between the coordinates of a plurality of points on the reference surface of the work in the radial rotational directions, and the radial rotational distance to a distance sensor on the basis of the distance signal from the distance sensor, determines the coordinate range of a step, which is formed on the reference surface, in the radial rotational direction on the basis of the measurement data, generates control data indicating the trajectory of the tool on the basis of the measurement data and the coordinate range of the step, and numerically controls the first and second servomotors on the basis of the control data. The controller selectively uses a plurality of offset values on the basis of the coordinate range of the step when generating the control data.
