Abstract:
A machining power source of a wire electrodischarge machineing apparatus for applying the pulse voltage for inducing discharge between a wire electrode (E) and a work (W) to be machined, and applying the machining pulse voltage between the poles after the insulation between the poles is broken by the pulse voltage and the discharge is induced, thereby machining the work (W) This machining power source comprises a discharge state determining means (1a) for determining the discharge state between the poles, and an application voltage selecting means (1b) which inverts the polarity of the pulse voltage for inducing the discharge compared to that of the previous pulse voltage for inducing the discharge if the discharge state between the poles is determined to be abnormal (Y1) or open (Y3) by the discharge state determining means (1a), and sets the same polarity of the pulse voltage for inducing the discharge as the previous pulse voltage for inducing the discharge if the discharge state between the poles is determined to be normal (Y2). The can improve the machining efficiency.
