Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to achieve both low internal resistance and a decrease in manufacturing cost by arranging a negative electrode current collector so as to meander between gaps on a surface of a negative electrode active material, thereby eliminating the need for attaching the negative electrode current collector to an entire wide area of a negative electrode and reducing the area of the negative electrode current collector. A magnesium air battery is provided with: a sheet-shaped negative electrode active material 20 including magnesium or magnesium alloy; a negative electrode terminal 22 connected to the negative electrode active material; a sheet-shaped separator 30 which contacts the negative electrode active material and is impregnated with an ionization reaction material; a sheet-shaped positive electrode 40 contacts a surface of the separator 30 on the opposite side from the negative electrode active material; a negative electrode current collector 21 which is connected to the negative electrode terminal 22 and comprises a conductor disposed so as to meander between a gap s on a surface of the negative electrode active material 20 in such a way that the negative electrode active material 20 contacts the separator 30; a positive electrode current collector 42 which contacts a surface of the positive electrode 40 on the opposite side from the separator 30 and allows for ventilation; and a positive electrode terminal 44 connected to the positive electrode current collector 42.
