Abstract:
There is provided a magnesium alloy having high incombustibility, high strength and good ductility. The magnesium alloy is characterized by having a composition including Ca with an atomic % of a, Al with an atomic % of b, the remainder being Mg, and by having (Mg, Al)2Ca with a volume % of c, where a, b and c satisfy formulas (1) to (4), and the (Mg, Al)2Ca being dispersed. FORMULAS: (1) 3 ≤ a ≤ 7 (2) 4.5 ≤ b ≤ 12 (3) 1.2 ≤ b/a ≤ 3.0 (4) 10 ≤ c ≤ 35
