Title:
MAGNESIUM BASED BIORESORBABLE ELECTRODES FOR RECORDING, STIMULATION AND DRUG DELIVERY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/152415
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
A bioresorbable electrode including a magnesium microwire and a conductive polymer coating deposited on the Mg microwire; methods of manufacturing the electrode, methods of recording an electrical signal from a neuron with the electrode; methods of electrically stimulating a neuron with the electrode by applying an electrical stimulus to the neuron; and a method for delivering a drug, wherein the conductive polymer is loaded with the drug, and actuating the conductive polymer by applying an electrical stimulation to cause the conductive polymer to change a redox state of the polymer, wherein the drug is released from the conductive polymer.
