Abstract:
Provided is a magnesium oxide characterized in being obtained by treating a magnesium oxide powder with a halogen compound and a silane coupling agent. Moreover, provided is a method for producing a magnesium oxide characterized by carrying out the following: a step for preparing a magnesium oxide powder; a step for halogen compound treatment whereby the magnesium oxide powder is surface treated by a halogen compound; and a step for silane coupling agent treatment whereby the magnesium oxide powder is surface treated by a silane coupling agent.
