Abstract:
Disclosed is a magnet lock in which a rotor formed from a nonmagnetic material and having a fitting recess wherein a wall part forms a closed end is pivotably supported by a support protrusion of a casing, and a rod-shaped first permanent magnet engageable with the wall part is slidably fitted together, while being urged by a spring towards the wall part, with a specific sliding recess selected from among a plurality of sliding recesses provided at the tip end of the support protrusion; and a plurality of rod-shaped second permanent magnets are received and fixed in a magnet key so that the wall part is interposed between the first permanent magnet and the second permanent magnets when said magnet key is fitted together with the fitting recess. A first permanent magnet (38) and second permanent magnet (42) which are formed with a square cross-sectional shape are magnetized in such a way that the direction of magnetic force is oriented in a direction along the plane orthogonal to the pivot axis of a rotor (26). As a result, it is possible to increase the types of magnetic key while increased size and costs are avoided.
