Title:
MAGNETIC BEARING DEVICE INTEGRAL WITH MOTOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2008/015776
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A bearing device integral with a motor, in which long term durability of a rolling bearing
against thrust load is increased and in which a main shaft can be rotated at high
speed. Problems of assembly arising from the structure of the device using two
thrust plates are solved without creating problems of insufficient strength
in high-speed rotation. The bearing device integral with a motor simultaneously uses
rolling bearings (15, 16) and a magnetic bearing. The rolling bearings (15,
16) support a radial load and the magnetic bearing supports either or both an axial
load and a bearing preload. An electromagnet unit (17) forming the magnetic bearing
is installed in a spindle housing (14) so as to face, without contact, thrust plates
(13a, 13b) arranged on a main shaft (13). The thrust plates (13a, 13b) are two
plates separated in the axial direction and each have an electromagnet target
on one side and a permanent magnet (28aa) for a motor rotor (28a) on the other side.
A motor stator (28b) is placed sandwiched by the permanent magnets (28aa). A
motor (28) is an axial gap-type coreless. The main shaft (13) is split into two,
between the two thrust plates (13a, 13b), and both main shaft split bodies are
joined together.
