Abstract:
Provided are a sensor using a magnetic fluid, which can eliminate the offset problem of the sensor, such as a current sensor or a magnetic field sensor, a magnetic bridge made usable, when used in those sensors, of the magnetic fluid, and a magnetic path casing for forming such a magnetic fluid into a magnetic bridge of a desired shape as has its shape unfixed as it is. That sensor comprises a magnetic circuit, in which two isolated annular magnetic paths (mr1 and mr2) formed by shaping the magnetic fluid in a container (11) are connected by means of connecting magnetic paths (cr1 and cr2) made of a magnetic material, and exciting coils (L1 and L2) driven by exciting drive means and wound on the connecting magnetic paths (cr1 and cr2). The magnetic resistance in the magnetic circuit is suitably selected to manifest the magnetically balanced state, in which the sum of the magnetic fluxes of the two annular magnetic paths (mr1 and mr2) is zero (that is, the magnetic fluxes are equalized in magnitudes but reversed in directions).
