The present invention relates to a magnetic core that is for use in a rotary electric machine. The magnetic core comprises: a back yoke part that has a first lower surface; a tooth tip part that has a second upper surface; and a tooth part around which a winding part of a conductor is wound as seen in the vertical direction. The magnetic core has at least one of structures (A) and (B). (A) A first recess is provided in the first lower surface. The tooth part contacts the first recess, a rear end of the first recess is positioned further to the rear than a rear end of the winding part, and the depth of the first recess in the vertical direction is greater than the diameter of the conductor. (B) A second recess is provided in the second upper surface. The tooth part contacts the second recess, a rear end of the second recess is positioned further to the rear than a rear end of the winding part, and the depth of the second recess in the vertical direction is greater than the diameter of the conductor.
