Abstract:
Provided are a magnetic disc and a production method therefor, said magnetic disc being characterized in that: the magnetic disc is provided with an electroless Ni-P plating layer formed, through a compound removal process, on a surface of an aluminum alloy sheet produced by a continuous casting (CC) method from an aluminum alloy containing Fe: 0.4-3.0 mass% (hereinafter referred to simply as %), Mn: 0.1-3.0%, Cu: 0.005-1.000%, Zn: 0.005-1.000%, and the balance Al and inevitable impurities; the maximum amplitude of waviness having a wavelength of 0.4-5.0 mm is less than or equal to 5 nm; and the maximum amplitude of waviness having a wavelength of 0.08-0.45 mm is less than or equal to 1.5 nm.
