Abstract:
Provided is a magnetic element of a shape where a coil is covered with a magnetic body, such as a pot-shaped inductor, the magnetic element having superior cooling performance and capable of reducing heat generation. An inductor 1 as the magnetic element is provided with a coil 5 formed by winding a winding wire, and a magnetic body 2 in which the coil 5 is disposed and which transmits magnetic fluxes produced by the coil 5, wherein the magnetic body 2 includes an air-cooling portion, disposed on a magnetic body outer-diameter portion covering the outer-diameter side of the coil 5, for air-cooling the magnetic element, the air-cooling portion comprising a slit 7 which is a hole structure penetrating through the magnetic body outer-diameter portion. When the coil is sealed with sealing resin, the magnetic body is provided with a flow control path on a surface opposing the coil for controlling the flow of resin at the time of filling the sealing resin.
