Abstract:
Provided are: a magnetic encoder which is provided with multiple rows of magnetic tracks, is capable of detecting an absolute angle, is not much affected by a reduction in accuracy caused by press fitting attachment work, is capable of detecting the absolute angle with higher accuracy, and can be produced easily; and a production method therefor. The present invention is provided with: an annular cored bar (2) provided with a press-fit fixing part (2B) which is bent from an edge of a track forming surface part (2Aa), and continues therefrom, and in which a rotating shaft (31) is fixed by way of press fitting; and two or more rows of magnetic tracks (4) which are arranged adjacently, and in which N poles and S poles are alternately magnetized in a magnetic member (3) provided to the track forming surface part (2Aa). The two or more rows of magnetic tracks (4) comprise: a main track (5) which has the greatest number of magnetized poles, and is used for angle calculation; and a secondary track (6) for calculating a phase difference between the main track and the secondary track. The main track (5) is positioned further towards the side away from the press-fit fixing part (2B) than the secondary track (6).
