Disclosed is a magnetic gap spanned electric generator, having at least one magnetic column group, at least one coil column group and one sensing switch group. The magnetic column group respectively has at least one first magnetic part and at least one second magnetic part which are arranged at intervals; a magnetic pole axis of the first and second magnetic part is parallel to the movement direction; magnetic poles, with the same polarity, of the adjacent first and second magnetic part face each other, and are separated by a magnetic gap; the coil column group is provided at one side of the magnetic column group or between every two oppositely arranged magnetic column groups; the coil column group respectively has at least one sensing coil with the same axis and is arranged at intervals; the sensing coil can form a magnetic pole parallel to the movement direction; the length of the sensing coil is greater than the width of the magnetic gap, and is less than or equal to the length of the magnetic gap plus the magnetic part, cooperating with the selective switching between the opening and closing of the sensing switch group. In this way, a magnetoresistance phenomenon after a magnetization can be avoided, a multi-magnet power assistance with the same movement direction can be generated; and an energy conversion ratio is increased.
