Abstract:
This magnetic gear unit is provided with: a cylindrical outside rotor and inside rotor rotatably supported on the same axis; and a cylindrical stator interposed between the two rotors. Rotational torque is transmitted between the outside rotor and the inside rotor through the interaction between magnets arranged equidistantly on the inner periphery of the outside rotor, magnets arranged equidistantly on the outer periphery of the inside rotor, and magnetic bodies arranged in parallel and spaced equidistantly around the stator. In this configuration, rod-shaped magnetic bodies are used that extend in the axial direction of the stator, and the magnetic bodies are arranged between the two ends in the axial direction, skewed with a circumferential position offset in an amount corresponding to 1/12 to 1/4 of the pitch in the circumferential direction. This arrangement makes it possible to effectively decrease cogging torque and to achieve stable power transmission even given small torque fluctuations while maintaining a high torque density.
